Why I Started Fernwood Circle and What It Means for You
Why I Started Fernwood Circle and What It Means for You
I didn’t plan to start a property management company. I planned to help people.
My background is in hospitality and real estate. For years, I had been watching homeowners struggle with what should have been a positive and profitable experience. Some had inherited homes in Corvallis but didn’t want to sell them. Others had moved for work or retirement and were holding onto their furnished homes, unsure what to do next. A few had tried listing their properties on short-term rental sites, only to find themselves buried in guest messages, last-minute cleanings, and mounting stress.
Here’s the most important thing I’ve learned after more than a decade of helping people rent their homes: the key to success isn’t a fancy platform or perfect pricing. It’s trust. Owners need to know their goals are understood, their property is being looked after, and that someone has their back. When that’s in place, everything else works—bookings go up, guests leave happy, and owners can finally stop stressing over the details.
I saw an opportunity to offer something better, something more personal, more professional, and more sustainable.
From One Property to Many: How Fernwood Circle Took Root
Fernwood Circle began with one client who needed help managing their furnished home while living elsewhere. They didn’t want a corporate rental agency. They wanted someone they could trust. Someone who understood the local market, who would care for their home as if it were their own, and who would keep things running smoothly without constant oversight. That was my approach then, and it’s still my approach now.
What We Offer and Why It Matters
Today, Fernwood Circle is a full-service property management company based in Corvallis. We specialize in managing fully furnished homes for owners who don’t live here full-time or who want a hands-off investment. Some of our clients are retired and travel for part of the year. Others are professionals who relocated but decided to keep their home as a rental. A growing number are investors looking for consistent income and confident local oversight.
No matter the situation, our team brings a high level of care, attention, and professionalism. We manage every aspect of the rental process: marketing, bookings, guest communication, cleaning, maintenance, inspections, compliance with housing regulations, and monthly reporting. But we also do the little things that matter—like checking in after a windstorm, restocking essentials before a guest arrives, or finding the right local tradesperson to handle a repair with care.
I built Fernwood Circle on trust, service, and local expertise. We are rooted in this community, and we understand what makes Corvallis properties valuable. We know what guests are looking for, how to keep homes in excellent shape, and how to keep owners in the loop without overwhelming them.
If you’re holding onto a home in Corvallis and aren’t sure what to do next, I’d love to talk. Whether you’re thinking about renting it out for the first time or just want to explore your options, we’re here to help you make a confident and informed decision.
It all starts with a conversation.
